Happy Birthday Dear Blondie. Happy Birthday to ME!

So Today is my twenty first birthday. And although I am exited. It really is just another day to me. Except I am not at work! That's a nice change for once. For a couple of days I do not have to worry about prepping food for 50+ dogs. NO check ins or check outs for boarding and daycare. I don't have to worry about making sure certain dogs ate their meds with their food. No picking up poop. No yelling SHHHHHHHH to keep them quit in the kennels. No breaking up fights. But also no cuddling or kisses. Or cute puppies. But come Monday my life will go back to normal.

I will say it has been nice having some extra time in the saddle. I really miss riding Fen. I get to ride him at least three times a week with my schedule. But I love the extra quality time.

Yesterdays ride was so freaking awesome. We went riding around these gorgeous hills. And saw some fancy pants homes. But then Dennis and I rode by this abandoned construction sight. There were about seven of these multi million dollar homes that looked done on the outside. those big tractors and things were there just sitting and rusting. It was a reality check for me on how bad the economy really was. They totally ran out of funding to build those houses so they just left them there. Dennis and I rode around the sight admiring how beautiful they were and how it would be nice to live in one. Of course we agree that we would keep two and tear the rest down and built a twenty horse barn with a large indoor arena. Dennis told me there use to be an awesome trail were the homes where. that they blocked off the trail to build more homes. That made me angry. They took away so many of our trails just to build homes. But the ride home was peaceful and not too cold!

On a even better note I got my English saddle. I am so exited to use it! I will be taking it over to the ranch today and trying it out. YAY.

And well I am not giving my thirty days notice to my ranch. I really love the people and I do not want to screw up anything again.

Oh and tom. is my party. I am so very exited about that! I get to see all my old friends! I can not wait.

Cheerios to you all!

Ill be hitting the trails today!

Forecast for the week = nice sunny weather with a chance of Alcohol

Hey y'all

My birthday is exactly four days away and I could not be anymore exited. It will be the big twenty one. So now I will legally be allowed to drink myself silly. But knowing me I won't. I got three days off just for my birthday. And guess what I will be doing? RIDING FEN! lol I have not been able to ride him as much because of my crappy schedule at work. So I will definitely be riding! if the weather permits. IT BETTER!

I am going to give my thirty days notice to my current boarding stable on my birthday. this is very hard for me because I realize how much I care for everyone at my ranch. I just hope I do not chicken out. I really want to do whats right for me and my horse. And also Robby who has to drive me to the ranch. I hope I figure all this out without making everyone angry at me.

So anyway I am having a birthday party on Sunday. Just a few friends and of course food! Than I hope to go on a trail ride after with some friends. It is going to be so much fun.

And I realized that on this blog I have spotlighted Fen, Sundance, and Panda but not my precious K.T. She is such a good cat and hardly ever does anything naughty. Here is our baby girl.

It is a gorgeous day outside today. It makes me want to ride so bad. It will be hard to concentrate at work today. When it is raining outside, or over a hundred degrees its easier for me to do my job because I do not feel like riding in those conditions.
Oh and I am anxiously awaiting a package. I am getting an English saddle for my birthday! I ride western mostly. But I wanted an English saddle to use when I am too lazy to lift my forty pound western saddle. And it will give Fen a nice break once and a while. And with it I got a lovely lime green girth. Well I have to go get ready for work.

Oh and for your enjoyment here is a random picture of our Fen:

It shows his wild side ;-)

World's Worst Cat

Well Panda has done it this time....

How could something as cute and innocent looking as this....

DO THIS?!!!

Robby told me that he caught panda doing this! I have no idea why he did this. I mean he has every cat toy in the world yet he insists on making a hole in the wall. I guess We are not getting our pet deposit back. With all this said I still love him to death. But ill have my revenge. Panda is going to be neutered soon. HAHA. But it's for his own good anyway.

I do have work today. The crappy shift as always. Im getting really tired of this shift. I can never get anything done at home. And it takes away so much time away from poor Fen. I may go see him tonight but who knows...

Oh and my birthday is coming up. I am so excited. I asked for three days off of work to celebrate.

I am off!

Good day to you!

What's For Dinner?

I went into my pantry to get some items to cook dinner. And apparently cat is on the menu. Yeah you guessed it, I found Sundance just hanging out in there. My cats are so weird. But I love them anyway.

Night Time Fun

Well its official, I have fully decided to move Fen to the new ranch. All I have to do Is give my thirty days notice and try to explain this to my good friend. I went to visit Fen last night at eight at night. It was pretty dark and the only person there was the lady who rents the ranch apartment. I tried on my Australian saddle on Fen that I recently purchased off of craigslist. It fit him but was too small for me! But I paid nearly nothing for it so its ok. It was too dark and too muddy to do any serious riding. So I threw on a halter and just sat on Fen and goofed around. He was such a good boy. Than We had a little photo shoot with Robby as the photographer. At first Fen was not to fond of the flash. But he got used to it. So here are a few Random, Silly photos of Fen and I.

As you can see I need extremely harsh, severe equipment to control this boy

I love my pony!

Peace out!

Add your own caption. HAHA

I so love this horse! he puts up with so much stuff. I don't think I have ever loved a horse this much. We already have such a good bond.

Well I am off to work.

Peace out!

Changes

Well A lot has happened at where I work. For instance the Assistant manager quit randomly. Now this may not seem like a big deal but it is! When my boss was not there, she was there. Basically her job was to assign the jobs to us Kennel staffers, And basically oversee everything. Plus she did all the closing shifts. With her gone we are down one person at night. And night is the craziest time. All the daycare dogs usually leave all the the same time....In the evening. So with all this, my boss asked me to work all night shifts for a while...Until things settle down and he figures out what to do. And of course I said yes. There is nothing I could really do about this He would have just put me on those shifts anyway. So this leaves me in a pickle about my dear Fen. Its not fair for me to see him just two days a week. I could sell him but THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! And the other option is that I could move him to a ranch closer to me so I can see him at night. I just looked at my old facility in Granada hills. And It would be great to board there. They have a huge lit arena and they have lit bridle trails. So I could ride at night! And it is sooooo much closer than my current ranch. It only takes fifteen minutes (WITH TRAFFIC) vs a half an hour. And if there traffic it could take forty five minutes. And that's tough. The worse part is I do not drive. Robby usually drives me. Now I could take a bus but the bus would take three freaking hours! and in the dark none the less. But the dilemma is that I have friends at my current ranch. Especially one that uses my horse for lessons. And my horse is the only horse gentle enough to tolerate a beginners scary riding. Without my horse he will lose half his clients. I mean he doesn't give me any money for this. I let him do this from the goodness of my heart. But I am going to feel so horrible for this. But for once in my freaking life I have to do something for me you know? Its not fair for me to only see my horse twice a week. Id basically be paying to board my horse and have someone else use him. So I will be giving my thirty days notice soon. I hope the owner just lets me leave on the first. And as for my friend I really have no clue....I hope he doesn't hate me. I just hope he understands. Maybe he will move up there with me. I doubt that. I have to do whats right for Fen and I. I really love him so much.

The Great Wallet Caper

Well Its raining here and of course I have the crappy shift today. YUCK. Anyway I managed to go riding yesterday before this big storm hit. The gymkhana was canceled because of all the mud. So I just trail rode. I was out riding around for about three hours. It was totally awesome. Fen was such a good boy. It was starting to get dark so we headed home. Then I realized that I had lost my wallet! Ahhh! I had forty bucks in it (which I did not care about to much) and all my medical cards (which can be replaced) and my DEBIT CARD! Yes my debit card that has all my money on it! I back tracked the whole trail. but it was getting dark and I knew someone had to have taken it. So I immediately called and canceled it. I will get a new one in seven to ten days. Same with my medical cards. I was amazed about how good fen was through all of this. He could care less about turning around and doing the whole trail over again. I love that horse. He is just such a good boy. and I did all of this riding bareback. So I have a couple pics of the good boy =)

Bi Polar Weather

I swear this weather we are having is Bi Polar. One minute its pouring rain outside and the next minute it is nice and sunny. Anyway it's not like it will do me any good. I have to work today. And the crappy shift none the less. At least Robby and I had an early Valentines dinner last night. Went went to our favorite Sushi restaurant! Anyway I woke up to the sound of the cats playing in the garbage basket. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of that escapade. Oh and Sundance has a new favorite place to hang out. Right on the of the refrigerator. I went to make my breakfast and there he was.

A few minutes later I found them Cuddling on my chair. I guess they remembered it was Valentines day today and they had to love each other lol

Well I am off to go keep dogs from humping each other.

Have a lovely day...

Looks Like Rain

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was so tired from the awesome mountain ride I went on with a few friends. Yesterday was awesome. I wish I could go back and do it again.

Yesterday starts off pretty typical. I wake up to Panda attacking my feet. I ate breakfast. Then I go to take my shower. But I have visitors in the bathroom with me.

You guessed it. Both Sundance and Panda were playing in the toilet. This is becoming a regular morning ritual for us. I guess I have to tell Robby to keep the seat down. haha.

Anyway, Then Robby drops me off at the ranch so I could go riding with my friends. I get to the ranch and realize that my tackroom keys fell off my keyring. After I frantically look for them for a few minutes, I soon came to the realization that they were forever long gone. My friend was about a half hour away (hey had spare keys to get in) So I put a halter on Fen and ride him around bareback. It was fun! And he was such a good boy about it. Than I tied him up and flipped though the pages of an old tack catalog. I soon become bored with that and I started taking random pictures with my camera. I managed to get a decent one of Fen.

So than my friend Dennis showed up. We were tacking up and my other friend Molly showed up. So we invited her. We all decided to go on a mountain ride since Molly and her horse Dreamz have never been up there. I wish I would have brought my camera. The views were amazing up there. All the horses where pretty well behaved. We even went for a little gallop. That was awesome. Then on the way home Molly spotted a baby bunny on the ground all by itself! It was so cute! I immediately jumped off to get it. I didn't have any intentions of keeping it. (Like I need anymore animals) I was simply going to relocate it. It was not safe out in the open. So I jumped Off Fen. But it ran away. So sad. But I was amazed that Fen stood there and ground tied on the open trail. What a good boy.

It was a blast yesterday. But I most go to work today. And of course I have the crappy shit. And it is suppose to rain all weekend. So there will be no Gymkhana.

Oh well...

Good day to you all!

Labrador Retriever Central!

So I work at a dog kennel. And we offer, training, boarding, grooming, wellness and of course Doggy daycare. And as animal care attendants we rotate working in daycare. I was out there a good two to three hours today with all the dogs. And I noticed that there were A lot of labs there. And they all were different. First there was Jade. She is very loving, sweet and calm as can be. Very well bred in my opinion. The ideal lab. She was a good size, not too thin or too fat. She was a beautiful yellow color and had gorgeous hazel eyes. I wish all labs were like her. Than there was Cooper. He is a freaking Mac truck. I asked his owner how much he weighs, and she said just a little over a hundred pounds! And almost white in color. He looks innocent but he is a huge jackass! Very dominant. He is always humping the other dogs to show he is more dominant then they are. And whenever someone walks by the daycare yard he is always barking very aggressively. And he is always in everyone's business. Than there was Horatio. He is a chocolate lab. Very tall and very skinny. He was very hyper. He would never sit down and rest. At least Cooper will take naps every now and than. Than there was polo. She is a black lab. She is very very short. Almost looks like a really fat puppy. But she is full grown. She has a personality much like Cooper's. I was kidding with my Co Worker saying that I think she is related to Cooper. Than it got me thinking. Why do People breed dogs with these traits. Not only are they not visually appealing (which is the least important thing to me)But they are idiotic and their personalities are horrible. Not really good family dogs like the lab's portrayed in the good ol' days. I am really against breeding these days since the shelters are packed with dogs that need homes. But if you insist on breeding, why can't you breed decent quality dogs like Jade (dog mentioned above). Than there are Labradoodles! Ohhh the horror! For those of you who do not know what a Labradoodle is. Its a lab, poodle cross. Its considered a "designer dog" But ill get into that another day.

Just Another Wednesday

Well I have work today. And its such a shame because it's so nice outside. Perfect for riding. And the icky thing is I have the late shift, 10:30am to 7:30 pm. So by the time I get out it will be to dark for riding. Yesterday was such a nice day. I went to my weight watchers meeting. I have been at my goal weight successfully for two months now. YAY! Then I went to the ranch to visit Fenamore. And I also rode Pusher. Pusher is a Tennessee Walker that I am training for a friend of mine. He is the biggest airhead of a horse that I have ever met. He never pays attention when your riding him. If I turn my attention to anything else when I am riding him, He would fall in a ditch or something. Then of course I rode my dear fen. He is such a good boy. Just plodded down the road with no problems. Oh another thing that happened yesterday. I was about to take my morning shower and guess who I found in the toilet? PANDA! Yes I found panda in the toilet just slurping away. And well I got it on video lol. Take a look. Make sure to have the volume turned up so you can here him slurping!

Oh And here is a cute picture of Fenamore just for fun!

My Lovely Little Introduction WARNING VERY LONG

Hey Folks,
This is my first Post! Yay! Anyway, there is not much to say about me. I am a fun loving girl who would rather clean a horse stall than her own room. I would rather be outside on a horse than inside a mall. I love the outdoors. I work at a dog kennel. I am around cute, fun, and idiotic dogs all day. I have a small group of fantastic animal loving friends. If im not at work or at the ranch you can usually find me at home with my wonderful boyfriend and my beloved feline friends. I have three cats and a horse that I love dearly. I plan to add a second horse to my family very soon. I love taking pictures of my animals. Especially those pictures of the strange things they do. I can't really explain it. But you will see all in good time. So I guess Ill introduce my furry friends.

FENAMORE
Fenamore is basically my life. He was given to my by a good friend of mine. I was considering quitting horses before I got him. I had a very bad year with horses and lost a very special horse. But dear Fen fueled the fire in my heart again. We think he is approximately twelve maybe thirteen years young. He is strawberry roan in color. I really have no clue what breed he is. I was told that he was a quarter horse mix. I think he is quarter horse and Morgan with a splash of mustang, but who knows. I love him just the way he is. He is blind in his right eye but that does not bother him any. I have huge plans for him. I have already started training him for barrel racing and other gymkhana games. He has an amazing turn on him. And he has some speed in there too. He has such a good mind that I also want to enter him in Craig Cameron’s extreme cowboy race at next year’s equine affaire. I know that’s a while away. But it’s never to early to prepare. My friend uses him in his lesson program. He is so gentle with beginners. He totally knows the difference between say running a set of barrels and going on a nice calm trail ride. I hope to use Fen to teach my beginner boyfriend how to ride. He is everything plus more that I cold ask for in a horse. I remember when I was a teenager I wrote down all the qualities I want in my dream horse. Fen is all that plus more. I look forward to many years with him.

K.T.

K.T. was Robby (my boyfriend) and I's first kitty we got together. We obtained her in an interesting way. One day we got a phone call from Robby's mom. She found a kitten at where she works (she was abandoned) and she asked us if we wanted him (we thought she was a he when we first got her). Robby was a little skeptical at first because he was a full time student at the time. But after he saw her cute little face it was a done deal. she was the tiniest little you ever saw. She had a serious attitude problem at first. Always biting and scratching you. But as she got older she mellowed out. And became the biggest love bug ever. She is very shy and timid when she meets new people but once she gets to know you she is so lovable. She is the calmest out of all three cats.

Sundance

Sundance or "Mr. Personality" as we call him is the most rambunctious, personable cat in the world. I swear he is more dog like than cat like. He drinks out of the toilet for crying out loud! He is always getting into everything. He can be incredibly lazy also. And he is food obsessed. he loves to eat! He also has a bit of a weight problem. He is a little over a year old and weighs about seventeen pounds! So he is on the larger side...K.T. barely weighs eight pounds. Anyway when adopted Sundance from a place called Pet Adoption Fund. They are fantastic people to deal with. And all their animals are healthy and well cared for. Any way Robby and I noticed that our schedules were getting kind of heavy with work and school and horse related things. And K.T. was bit getting as much attention. So we decided to adopt a kitty friend to keep K.T. occupied. We adopted a cat from a local shelter that we loved. unfortunately the shelter lied about the health of that cat and about two or three days later the poor kitty was humanely euthanized. All other Kitties were sick at the shelter so we decided to try a more local rescue. And that is how we got Sundance. And although he can be a royal pain in the ass sometimes ( I have scars to prove that) We love him and would not trade him for anything!

Panda

Panda is the youngest out of all three cats. He is very friendly and very hyper. We really did not need another cat but when we met panda we could not help but fall in love. We call him “Sundance Jr.” because his personality is so much like Sundance’s. We are still learning about him. He is a keeper and we can not wait to watch him grow.
